Work with individuals towards habilitation with a team. Make a difference in someone’s life. There are two positions – 16 hrs/week and 20 hrs/week at two different sites.
Schedule is primarily afternoon and evening hours with every other weekend a requirement. You must possess a valid, insurable driver’s license, have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and be willing to have a flexible work schedule. Sites are in Lehigh and/or Northampton Counties.
Hourly rate range is $12.62 to $14.64 with a great benefit package!
The Direct Support Professional position is relied upon for ethical implementation of services and support. You are delegated the authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties and to respond to emergency situations. Supervisory staff is available to you on a 24-hour basis. Since you will be working with people, you must be prepared to effectively deal with emergencies, health-related issues and unexpected interruption of duties. We will ask that you be flexible in routine, daily assignments, site assignments, hours of work and philosophical commitment. Your actions will affect another person’s life, and it is expected that you will be a positive, desirable role model. Since you will be interacting with numerous professionals on a frequent basis, you are expected to represent yourself and the Agency in a positive, professional manner at all times.
- Associate’s Degree/60 credit hours from an accredited college or university plus 6 months experience in a related human services field; OR
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent plus a minimum 2 years of direct care Developmental Disability experience or 3 years of related experience in a human service field.
